Abstract:

Operation Highjump, officially titled the United States Navy Antarctic Developments Program, 1946-1947, was a U.S. Navy operation organized by Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, Jr., Officer in Charge, and led by Rear Admiral Richard H. Cruzen. It commenced on August 26, 1946, and ended in February 1947.
