Biography

Fighter Squadron 7 (VF-7) was established on January 3, 1944, during World War II. The squadron operated from the USS Hancock (CV-19), flying F6F-5 Hellcat fighters in combat missions over the Asiatic-Pacific theater. VF-7 participtaed in various operations, including strikes against Japanese targets and air defense missions, until it was diestablished on June 8, 1946, shortly after the war's end.
