Biography
L.B. Hardy (1924 – 2006) was born in Gainesville, Arkansas, and joined the United States Army Air Corps in April 1944. As a Private First Class, Hardy trained at Yuma, Amarillo, and Sioux Falls Airfields and served as a radio operator aboard the B-29 “General Confusion.” Pfc Hardy was stationed on Tinian with the 398th and 421st Bombing Squadrons, 504th Bomb Group, and participated in bombing campaigns in Japan toward the end of the war.
