Biography

Asa Porter, 1911-1991, was in the Army during World War II. He was stationed in the Pacific during the war spending time in New Guinea, Australia, and the Philippines. He was part of missions in New Guinea and Sanananda, towards the end of the war he spent time in the Philippines and was stationed at Luzon until he came home in 1946.

Abstract

The Asa Porter Collection contains military documents, patches, guides for returning to civilian life, and letters that Asa sent to his family during the war as well as a transcript of all of Asa’s letters.
