The Elmer A. Curry collection comprises photographs, newspapers, a scrapbook, course material, and various items associated with Technical Sergeant Elmer A. Curry.

A substantial portion of the collection consists of class-related material and institutional items connected to Curry’s time at Pomona College. This encompasses notes, diagrams, exams, and assignments in both English and Spanish. Additional noteworthy items related to Pomona College include a certificate of completion, a “Class A” pass, and a graduate pamphlet for the Army Specialized Training Unit.

One significant component of the collection is the scrapbook, housing service records, programs, correspondence, and photographs concerning Elmer A. Curry. Among its contents is a traffic diagram for Guam, likely utilized during Curry’s service as the assistant to the Traffic Controller in Guam.

The collection encompasses various newspapers covering a broad spectrum of topics, such as tire rationing, the exodus of Japanese Americans from California, events in Burma, the atomic bombs, the conclusion of the war, and other WWII-related news.

Photographs in the collection include a crew photograph of Company “C” Unit 3921 at Pomona College, led by Lt. U.V. Watts, dated February 4, 1944. Additionally, there are images of Elmer A. Curry and his wife, Dorothy Curry.

Lastly, the Elmer A. Curry collection features a vinyl and digital copy of a recording created by Elmer A. Curry, featuring descriptions of his military service and his relationship with his wife. This recording was sent to Dorothy Curry and family.
