Scope and Contents
Included within this folder is a flyer from the Japanese to the Philippine people, a statement regarding General Jonathan M. Wainwright, a photograph of the USS Texas, and a pictorial history titled "American and Allied Personnel Recovered from Japanese Prisons."
The flyer contains a message to the Philippine people from the Imperial Japanese forces after the occupation of the Philippines.
The statement is from the office of the Resident Commissioner of the Philippines to the United States, released on September 10, 1945, titled "Wainwright is America Set Free." It describes Wainwright's heroic actions during the fall of the Bataan and Corregidor.
The pictorial history was recorded by the Replacement Command, AFWESPAC, on November 11, 1945, in Manila, Philippines.
