Scope and Contents
The Fort Knox, Armored Force Replacement Training Center, and Armored School series documents the administrative, instructional, research, and training activities conducted at Fort Knox, Kentucky, primarily during the World War II era, with additional materials extending into the postwar period. The series reflects the daily operations of the Armored Force Replacement Training Center (AFRTC), the Armored School, and associated Special Training Units (STUs). Materials include photographs, programs, newsletters, manuals, administrative records, research reports, training directives, case studies, and instructional guides. Together, the records provide insight into personnel management, training curriculum, student evaluation, psychological and academic assessment, and the broader organizational structure of armored force training during the 1940s.
