Personnel Records

 Series

Scope and Contents

The Personnel Records series documents the military and professional career of Robert E. Byrns from his early service in the 1930s through his post–World War II and mid-career administrative history, extending into his later civilian affiliations and veteran status. The materials record Byrns’s military appointments, service evaluations, training history, correspondence, and administrative interactions with the U.S. Army and Veterans Administration. Additional materials document his involvement in academic and professional organizations later in life. Together, the records provide a comprehensive view of Byrns’s career progression, military service, and professional recognition.
