Scope and Contents

This folder contains mounted photographs and notes from senior military leaders and servicemembers associated with the Japanese surrender ceremony aboard the USS Missouri. Included are autographed photographs of Lieutenant General Bonner Fellers, General Joseph W. Stilwell, Commander Horace D. Moulten, Lieutenant General Joseph M. Swing, Air Vice Marshal William D. Bostock, and Lieutenant General Clovis E. Byers. Materials also feature several items related to Herman L. Graff, including a mounted photograph of Graff with Chester W. Nimitz. The folder includes a note of compliments from Admiral of the Fleet Lord Fraser of North Cape, along with a portrait photograph of Lord Fraser. Also present are a mounted board with photographs and notes from servicemen involved in the surrender ceremony—such as Edward C. Holden and Robert L. Eichelberger—and an additional photograph of four unidentified servicemen likely aboard the Missouri during the ceremony.
