Scope and Contents
This folder contains correspondence, photographs, newspaper clippings, and personal effects documenting the life and military service of Ensign Thomas Raymond Jones. Materials include condolence letters and telegrams sent to Jones’s family following his death, including correspondence regarding the posthumous award of the Purple Heart, as well as photographs of Jones during his youth, education, naval training, and time stationed in Hawaii. Also included are images of friends, family members, and unidentified individuals connected to Jones, along with military ephemera such as name cards, trunk tags, and shipping tags. The folder further contains a newspaper clipping announcing Jones’s commission as an ensign in the United States Navy.
