Scope and Contents
This folder contains two letters and one article written by James Heindel concerning his experiences in postwar Japan and observations related to Sugamo Prison. The correspondence to his family discusses personal and family matters. One letter references a Stars and Stripes article commemorating VJ Day and includes detailed descriptions of prisoners held at Sugamo Prison, many of whom were accused or convicted Japanese war criminals.
