Flying Fish Greeting Card and The Bluejacket's Manual, 1944 - 1947
Scope and Contents
This folder contains a twelfth edition of the Bluejackets Manual of the United States Navy in 1940 and one greeting card from Catalina, California. The greeting card included in this folder was initially housed within the Bluejackets Manual. The outside of the greeting card depicts a sizeable yellow creature in red overalls sitting on an island while fishing a sign that reads, “Greetings from Catalina, California Here’s a Souvenir and a Sincere Wish from the Lovely Land of the –”. The inside of the card reads, “FLYING FISH”. A fragile tissue paper flying fish spins when the wind hits the toy fish.
