Scope and Contents
The Robert F. Foote Collection consists of documents and photographs of Foote’s service in the United States Navy as a surgical doctor during the Pacific War. There are scrapbooks from Foote’s experience in American and British Samoa, Hawaii during the war, and post-surrender Japan and China. This collection also contains Foote’s personal letters to his parents from 1942 to 1950. Also included are photographs of Foote and Naval award ceremonies, as well as Foote’s medical certificate and discharge letter from President Truman.
