Scope and Contents
The Hermann A. Greissle Collection contains Tagalog Times editions that cover frontline news from May to August of 1945 of the Pacific War. These editions cover news of the end of the Pacific War which includes military advances and Japan’s surrender. It also includes a black-and-white posed photo of Private First-Class Herman A. Greissle sitting down in his uniform. This collection also contains two graphite drawings that depict scenes of combat.

Biographical / Historical
Hermann A. Greissle (April 4, 1925 – October 12, 1990) was born in Moedling, Austria, and served during World War II. During his service, Greissle was the Art Editor for the Tagalog Times during World War II, primarily covering news regarding the Pacific War.
