The Harmon L. Graff Collection documents the experiences of U.S. and Allied military personnel who were present at the Japanese surrender ceremony aboard the USS Missouri on September 2, 1945, as well as Graff’s postwar efforts to identify, contact, and obtain autographs and written attestations from those who witnessed the event. Materials span mounted photographs, signed portraits, autographs, notes, correspondence, newsletters, and commemorative items.

Contains a certificate from the Supreme Council of S.G. Inspector General of the A. A. Scottish Rite for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. This certificate signifies that Edward Martin Doran will be granted the title of Prince of the Royal 32 Degree in Columbus, Ohio. Signed in the left margin on November 19, 1948.

This certificate from The Imperial Council of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine for North America signifies that Edward M. Doran is to be considered a noble of the mystic shrine in the Aladdin Temple of Columbus, Ohio. Signed in the left margin by Edward M. Doran on May 6, 1950.
