Biography
Catherine Freeman Nimitz (1892-1979) was the wife of Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, whom she married in 1913. During World War II, she actively supported the U.S. war effort by giving speeches to encourage support for the armed forces and volunteering for the Navy Relief Society.
