Scope and Contents
This box contains 12 large-format, matted photographs. Included are images of naval vessels and equipment, such as landing craft, a blimp, ship masts, anti-aircraft guns, and vessels at sea or anchored. Additionally, there are photos of amphibious and supply operations, including Coast Guard servicemembers unloading supplies and operating landing craft on Emirau Island, as well as military personnel at work, such as servicemen handling ropes, manning weapons, climbing ship masts, wearing headphones, and performing shipboard duties. Lastly, there are photos of a ship christening with campaign, interactions between servicemen and local islanders, and a smiling Coast Guard servicewoman ankle-deep in water.
