Scope and Contents
The William Burt Lee, Jr. Collection is a collection of photographs taken and compiled by PhoM 1/c William Burt Lee, Jr., during his service aboard the U.S.S. Chenango (CVE-28) between 1942 and 1945. The collection comprises two oversized scrapbooks that document both ship life aboard the U.S.S. Chenango (CVE-28) and Japanese life at the conclusion of the war, as well as the aftermath of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, a folder of photographs documenting the American occupation of South Korea in 1945, and a folder of photographs documenting naval aviation and life aboard the U.S.S. Chenango between 1942-1945.
