Scope and Contents
The Charles P. Trotti Jr. Collection mainly consists of letters of correspondence between Charles P. Trotti Jr. and his family and friends. The letters include those from his father, mother, brother, sister, and friends. Additionally, the collection contains several photographs of Charles P. Trotti Jr. in his uniform and photographs of him with a Hawaiian woman. There is also a photograph of him in a fake mockup of a City Jail. One of his friends, Shirley, included a photograph of herself while attending Rice University in one of the letters.
The collection includes several documents related to Charles Trotti's service in World War II, such as his registration for service and separation papers. Some booklets are great examples of discussing the life of servicemen as they returned home from the front. There are letters regarding his status and payments with the Veterans Administration and a signed letter from President Harry S. Truman.
