The Clarence Karcher Collection, 1942-1946, includes a vast assortment of over 500 photographs, negatives, postcards, a service prayer book, a military identification card, a pay schedule book, a diary, a scrapbook, and three large photographs. These items are all related to Clarence Karcher's experience in the Pacific during World War II, specifically in the Philippines and during the Japanese occupation. This includes places he went, people he encountered, and different tasks they were given while in Japan with the United States Army. The collection consists of sixteen unused postcards from places that Clarence visited in Japan as well as negatives of some of the photographs, a large scrapbook full of even more wartime photographs, a diary that gives a brief daily update on where he was while in Japan, and a couple of military documents such as an identification card and a blank Soldier's individual pay schedule book.
