Scope and Contents
The Oscar Brown, Jr. Collection contains various materials related to Brown's naval service on the USS Medusa from 1939 to 1946. These materials include Thanksgiving and Christmas Day menus, programs, newsletters, documents, membership cards, certificates, letters, manuals, photographs, and a scrapbook full of photos from his time serving in the war. The collection includes eighty-six photographs, multiple holiday menus, three newsletters, and multiple Navy documents, including a discharge ceremony program, a dependent aid book, and Navy course certificates. The collection also includes copies of the Daily Telegraph and letters, Jungle Chapel programs, and a scrapbook full of photographs from his time on the USS Medusa.
